Sept 10th The Wedding Party From North Curry to Knapp past our house. On their way to Knapp I snapped this photograph from the top bedroom of the cottage as the carriages went by it was an appalling afternoon raining stair rods nevertheless it was an unusual shot to take.
Sept 9th Stuart from J.F Scriven Butchers in North Petherton. Our goats have been spared from Stuart however he has dealt with our pigs and shortly are sheep will have an appointment with him. He's always very keen to listen to what we really want which is quite unusual in this day and age and he has some great advice with regards to unusual cuts of meat and different ways of trying and preserving meets in the old-fashioned way
Sept 8th 10th Anniversary Party. This was a spectacular evening in Grayshott a 10th anniversary party for Gallery One in crossways Road. Cracking music lovely food so much to drink as Cath Simmons will discuss, a lovely evening. Marion certainly knows how to throw a party
Sept 7th John Kingston, Head Coach of Harlequins RFC. John has high hopes for the season this year, it only just begun and Nick Easter is going to be on World Cup duty until October nevertheless he is upbeat and says they have a good chance of getting into Europe this year, we hope so
Sept 6th Allo Allo, 2011 the read through. 15 years ago Churt amateur dramatic Society produced hello hello and it was a huge amount of fun and very successful at the Electric Theatre in Guildford. Tonight there are plans to and do another production and it was great to see many of the old cast still there reading their own individual parts
Sept 5th Pete the Pig Slayer at A C Hopkins's slaughterhouse. Two of the pigs went off to the slaughterhouse at Creech today, they were greeted by Pete shown in the photograph who ushered them down the pathway to oblivion as he has done so many times before he seems to be rather anaesthetised to the job, good things too, otherwise it would really get your down
Sept 4th. They have started the new garden wall - at last. Darren and Jim worked very hard this weekend starting the new wall to the front garden. I cannot see that it's going to be finished before November and then we have to start thinking about landscaping and finishing the project off. They're doing a great job but these things take a long time
Sept 3rd . I have discovered macro photography, today I took a picture of this butterfly in the rear garden using the macro lens on my camera. I've yet to identify it but I was rather delighted by the photograph and it gives me encouragement to carry on taking photographs of smaller rather than larger bits and pieces. I'm pretty sure that this is a small tortoiseshell
Sept 2nd. North Curry Church from our lower field. Again another lovely summers day I caught this photograph rather late in the day from the lower field looking towards the North Curry Parish Church. If you click on the photograph it will enlarge and you'll see it's a fairly grand building for a relatively small village
Sept 1st Sunset over the Levels. Driving over the more road tonight I was fairly transfixed by the lovely sunset to the West over Taunton and towards Bristol Channel. It was all gone in just a few minutes however I especially liked the isolated telegraph pole on the left-hand side giving it an element of structure
Aug 31st The Fox and Pelican in Grayshott. This is the main pub in the middle of Grayshott village and in recent years it does seem to be have become the spot for midday drinking for the young unemployed. The property is being to numerous managers and was recently purchased by Fullers when they purchased Gales Ales
Aug 30th Susan's Birthday. A new bike! Today was a lovely day with both boys coming down to celebrate Susan's birthday. I reciprocated and bought her a bike in which you can see Sid nicely tucked into the basket next the handlebars, I think there are plans for trips over the levels which thankfully by pure nature the name are not too steep!
Aug 29th The Devonshire Arms in Long Sutton. Wo celebrate Susan's Birthday tomorrow. Sally came down and we went to Long Sutton just outside Langport and had a really very nice supper, I suffered from hideous tooth ache but it was a nice evening
Aug 27th Bad Taste Manor in Ham. On the road from Creech up to Knapp is an area called 13 bends, at the bottom of these is a hideous looking place with double gates, elephants on the ramparts and just everything that is out of place in the countryside, what's more it's a rather modest little property pretending to be grown up
Aug 27th Only in Somerset. There we are driving down the middle-of-the-road from Chedzoy to Westonzoyland when we come up to a herd of Friesian cattle wandering down the road, they didn't seem to be in control and I suspect they had just created a breakout for one the nearby fields
Aug 26th Anton of Pynes. The Sausage Maker. I think Anton spends a lot of his days making sausages and as you can tell from his rather bored look it's not the highlight of his day. I think he's there on work experience and from what I can tell butchery is probably not on the top of his list of future employment, but who knows
Aug 25th Bramley Manor. Spatts Lane. We sold Richard this site approximately a year ago and Bramley Manor is one of two good-sized properties which currently being built. Richard has received guidance at 1.9 million but I think that's somewhat robust, who knows. In our business time tells the story
Aug 24th Laura Musco. The Grayshott Parish Clerk
Aug 23rd Jeff Ayling. Our EPC Officer. Following the new government's dumping of home information packs we are still obliged to undertake energy performance certificates. Jeff is our local expert and visits most of our homes, not only doing the reports but also doing floorplans for us
Aug 22nd The Cottage East Woldham. This is where we be living for two days a week when we stay up in the Hampshire area. Now probably the subject of at least five different planning applications which have failed Richard the owner is starting to get rather jaundiced with the whole site.
