Feb 25th. Mike Amor. Building Control Office with Taunton Deane District Council. Here he is inspecting the strip foundations for our new garage. A nice chap and unlike many in his business willing to give some time and a few gentle hints.
Feb 24th Uncle Peter. aka Our neighbour Peter Howells. At 82 years old he is about as sprightly as you can get. Today he is on top of 10 feet of scaffolding trimming his hedge. An Engineer by profession, his workshop, next door is as close to a Jewsons rental agency as you could get.
Feb 23rd. Arnold Poole. Is a hedge layer. In fact he has being doing the same job every Spring since he left school. Now 64 years old Arnold does not read, write, drive or have a mobile phone. He left school at 11 and has worked the "countryside ways" ever since. Not hugely keen on cameras but did consent to the photo. Wikipedia

He has just finished an photographic digital display at The Lightbox in Woking documenting his journey  through this period of his life, when, in his own words, he “just happens to have” this degenerative illness.
Feb 21st. Bill and Ben. Our tortoises. When most people wake up early they just roll over and go back to a nice warm bed. These two were not so lucky. "In to the fridge with the both of you until Spring " she said. Very Harsh!

Feb 11th. Sid. He just needs to know what’s going on. lying in the back of the Landy and taking it easy is not an option. There could be someone or thing to smooch up to for food of maybe just to pee on their foot. He is the McCavity of Norfolks - The Napoleon of Crime
Feb 10th. The Somerset Levels. are crossed by a network of drainage ditches, canals and rhynes. For Many months of the year they can be underwater and the site of a gate in the middle of a large lake can be rather surreal. This winter it has been very dry and the gates and fences are all above water.

Feb 5th. The Garage Site. Lots of back breaking work yesterday and finished off today. The ground is ready for making up the formwork for the cement pad. The big holes are where the posts will sit, the vibrating/compacting machine left me thinking, I'm glad I am not a full time builder!
