June 27th. Didn't get the name. When I first saw this chap sitting opposite me in the train I did feel uncomfortable. When he started taking to me is when my preconceptions ran amuck. I thought he said "Give me your wallet" but in fact he really said is "Its hot isn't it".  The mind plays funny games with what it sees.
June 26th Ian and Fi. Down for the weekend with AJ. Really good to see them and to watch AJ riding one of the pigs! Went to the market yesterday to look at cows, sheep & pigs. Smells all the way round. No way AJ is going to win that smell-a-thon
June 25th. AJ. It wern't me Gov. I was sitting ere guarding this jug of Pimms and this bloke runs in and stuffs a strawberry in my mouth without even asking. Well I ask you, whats next?.

(Not to forget Annie's birthday 25th June)
June 24th Ferg and Me. Well it was as if he was paying with McIlroy, As John Betjeman
said " How straight it flew, how long it flew".
Payed 9 holes at Creech and won on the last. Rematch already scheduled
June 23rd Glastonbury. You could tell it was the first day of Glastonbury only 10 miles away at 8am when I took this photo. What else does It do on that day but rain...true to form it did
June 23rd Overhanging Trees. In a lane close to Alton I drove past these trees suspended in the air about 16ft above the road. I started to think about this and realised that over the millennia since the road evolved it had slowly worked it’s way down through the earth and stone and that is why so many country lanes are below the fields they pass, Food for thought.
July 21st. Golf Anyone?. This is a rather strange sight in the Kingsley countryside. Five large golf ball shaped domes sit as covers to satellite dishes in and around this area. Allegedly part of the early warning system they have been part of the scene for 25 years perhaps more.
July 20th The Quintessential Hampshire Scene. Up on the chalk downs near Hardley Mauditt a field of Hampshire Down sheep. Lovely summers evening, out for a walk, really quite taken by this scene
June 19th. Dad on Fathers Days, having said that he hasn't been around for some years. This picture taken in the mid 1980's in Newberry,  Mass, USA, just before Adrian's wedding. I miss playing golf with him
June 18th. Fred and Ferg. They both came down this weekend with Fathers Day tomorrow. Great to have them around. We put up an old platoon tent pending festivities’ on July 2nd for Ferg's 21st.
June 17th Travellers / Romanies. On the road between Somerton and Langport. It is a rare site nowadays but this is the real thing, piebald ponies and all.
June 16th. Sourdough Bread. Today its Susan's time to feature. Her first loaf from a starter supplied from Angela. (Some starters have been going for 100 years ) The mice got to this one a bit quickly as you can see. Editor's note - very tasty, a wheaty finsh with pleasant after taste.
June 15th North Cadbury, Somerset. Driving down the A303 this afternoon there was this spectacular field of blue, I'm not sure what is the crop is but it is quite lovely.
Stop Press. Now told its linseed.
June 14th. Rebecca Fergusson and Twins. Rebecca used to work at Burley and Geach opposite us in Grayshott. She is a legal Exec specialising in conveyancing. But, look what arrived 5 months ago Twins, Goodbye to the cruel world of work.
June 13th Tim Adams. I go back along way with Tim Adams who is now the Senior Partner of Barlow Robbins Solicitors in Guildford. Before we were both grey I sold him his first house in Chiddingfold. Good to catch up again yesterday in Guildford
June 12th Little Bast…ard. I know he is raiding the broad beans and he knows he is doing it but he is so sly that a really cannot do anything about it. The air rifle is now in the bedroom window. Beware!
June 11th. These two trot by the cottage quite often, where they are headed I do not know but the cart is always empty, I twigged this weekend that perhaps he is just exercising his horse. Maybe that’s it
June 10th Taken in Ham, North Curry. A rather surreal picture of a cow walking to a life buoy in the middle of a field. Not as bizarre as it seems as the canal is just the other side of the fence. Makes an interesting mix of subjects.
June 9th David Bennett. You may well have seen one of his children Ella and his wife appear in these pages earlier in the year. David is not only our neighbour but also part shareholder in our pigs and sheep.
June 8th Hill Farm at Purton. This is the inside of one of Stephen,s chicken sheds. They grow 26,000 birds at a time over a 38 day cycle. Temperature, humidity, water and food controlled to a fraction of an inch. – This is modern farming, like it or not.
June 7th. Branksome deVere. Today we had an all day training and software awayaday in Hindhead at one of the conference rooms at Branksome. Designed of Olivetti by some space age 1960’s Italian architect – doesn’t it look it! Mike Griffiths and Pete McKay from Expert Agent in the back row.
June 6th. Kingsley Pond. A lovely evening in Hampshire so we took a walk on Kingsley Common, past the pond and into the heath land. Stocked by the Kingsley and Oakhanger Angling Club, this pond lies immediately south of the village church and street near the Cricketers Pub
June 5th. A sad day on the Severn Bridge. We are driving up to Gloucester to see Granny (Susan's Mother) who had just had a very serious stroke. Not really anything else to add. A miserable day.
June 4th. Making hay while the sun shines. Phill Thrussell the farmer who farms the land adjoining us was out cutting and turning grass over the weekend, sadly I think he just missed the window as most of the other farmers finished on the friday - the rains came on the sunday.
June 3rd. Air Dried Ham. Today was one of those days when one year's worth of work either works or not. Having fed the pigs for 6 months, salted the leg for a month and then dried it for 5 months. It was the moment of truth. Quite delicious.
June 2nd. Gary from Tree Menders. Here he is hanging on a rope dealing with an oak tree suffering from honey fungus. The tree being subject to a TPO balanced above the Headley Road  - rather him than me.
June 1st. My mystery Photo. No names today. Hidden in the lupins of her mother's house in Frensham she stands.
May 31st. Nigel Taylor the Headmaster. Long term Head of Amesbury School in Hindhead, Nigel runs a very successful school, with, I might add an authoritive hand. Asks for no nonsense and put up with none in return. Good chap
